Some pieces look shiny online but feel like plastic when you open the package. Over the last months I noticed that some of my favorite items are not the most expensive ones. Each material has advantages and disadvantages depending on season and activity. It makes it easier to compare with an old pair of glasses that already fits well.

I enjoy reading threads where people honestly share what worked and what failed for them. If they ignore basic questions or reply with copy pasted text, I become suspicious. Each material has advantages and disadvantages depending on season and activity. If a deal looks too good to be true, it usually has some kind of catch. I have learned to avoid items that look extremely different in every product photo. I think this is one of the few real advantages we have compared to shopping blindly. Bad lenses can cause eye strain, reflections and headache when you wear them for hours.
